Hello!
My name is Samantha Freeland! I have been interested in art and design since middle school. In high school it really solidified in my mind that this was the career path for me. I took AP Art and began building technical fine arts skills, specializing in oil pastel and colored pencil.
In my last two years of high school, I found an intersection of my two passions, design and color guard. I began creating t-shirts for my own guard, and even some shirts worn by the whole 250 member band. I began creating formatted weekly newsletters to keep everyone updated.
This experience turned professional when I was hired at Sycamore High School to be an Assistant Director for their color guard and winter guard. I was now helping to design choreography, flag silks, drill charts/staging, props, and floor designs. Simultaneously I was admitted in Miami University's communication design program.  After four years, I graduated with a BFA, majoring in Communication Design and minoring in Digital Marketing. My specialities include Adobe Illustrator, Indesign, XD, and Photoshop. My areas of interest within graphic design are packaging design and UI/UX design.
